| KYLE | grid leak resistors Could somebody shed some light on grid leak reistors for me? I know that they are there to reference the grid to the cathode for biasing and to "bleed" off electron build up. I'd like to know how changing them from 220k to 100k on the outputs (el34) will prolong tube life - any math would be helpfull. Also, how do they effect the tone of the stage? I know that they will load down the input signal, but do they have an effect on the stage itself? ex., the volume pots are the grid leak/load resistors for the next stage. While the pots are setting up a voltage divider for the level, does the stage want to see a set load? Any help would be great - get techno on me! |
