| R..G. | Re: DIY hum problem Sounds like perhaps it's capacitive or inductive pickup in the wiring leading to that circuit. The volume control impedance is lowest at the two extremes of the control, shunting more of a high-impedance capacitive coupled hum to ground, and highest impedance at the resistive middle of the control, offering the least loading of a high-impedance coupled signal. Have you tried shielding the wires in that path? |
