| Richard | Input voltage for 6v6, and FX loop suggestions? I wonder what range the input voltage for a 6V6 should be in a class A, single ended design? The reason I'm asking this is because I am building a guitar amp and I would like to know if I can add an FX loop by simply cutting the signal path right before the power tube and put a series loop there in between... is this a Bad Idea (tm)? I don't want to put in an extra tube just to recover the loop return, I'm already using 3 preamp tubes (12AX7) and I'm planning on using an opamp to drive the FX loop (since the effects are usually SS anyway). Has anyone anything to say about series/parallel loops? Is a parallel loop something to consider building? Or should I stick to a series? The preamp is already built and I'm working on the power stage and loop circuitry for now so I'd rather not change any of the preamp design... Thanks for any input on this subject!! Best regards, Richard |
